The Trainer

Hi! I'm Kay Baker

I grew up on a small horse farm in Baldwin, MD. The environment I was raised in taught me to work hard and gave me a deep appreciation for the outdoors.

Just weeks after my 23rd birthday, my father died suddenly of what was believed to be a heart attack. This rocked my world. I began drinking heavily, eating a lot, and living a very unhealthy life.

Years later, I decided to try out a local, small gym. I was early for the class and decided to get on the scale that was outside the room. I was well over 200 pounds! I left there in tears feeling completely defeated. It would be another year or two before I went back. At this point, I would be closer to 250 pounds.

Getting My Life Back

In my late 20’s I got married, had a son, and decided it was time to take my life back. I fell back in love with running and playing tennis; I even started competing in road races again.

In 2010 I started coaching Cross Country and Varsity Men’s Tennis for a local high school and middle school.

At 49 years old I felt compelled to open a Fitness Studio and continue to share my story with other women who struggle. Now life just keeps getting better and my joy is found by giving back to others on a daily basis.

The Place

Love Life Fitness Studio is a women-only fitness studio in Fort Mill, SC, offering personal and small group training, as well as boxing session, all to empower women.
